Amit Shah Arrives In Odisha For Packed Schedule, To Inaugurate Major Projects Worth Rs 3,275 Crore

Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Odisha today (6 March) for a packed schedule across Cuttack, Paradip, Jatani and Bhubaneswar.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi received him at Biju Patnaik International Airport before Shah departed for his first engagement at Mundali in Cuttack, where he attended the 57th Raising Day ceremony of the Central Industrial Security Force as chief guest.

Following the CISF celebrations, the Home Minister flew to Paradip to dedicate to the nation the Sulphuric Acid Plant-III at the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited's Paradip unit.

The commissioning of the plant marks a significant step towards enhancing domestic fertiliser production capacity and improving operational efficiency at the complex.

Later in the afternoon, Shah to travel to Jatani in Khurda district to lay the foundation stone for the campuses of the National Forensic Sciences University and the Central Forensic Science Laboratory in Bhubaneswar.

The Home Minister also virtually inaugurated the NFSU transit campus, which aims to strengthen forensic education and investigation infrastructure in the eastern region.

The permanent NFSU campus will be developed on 40 acres of land provided by the Odisha government.

At the IDCO Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar, Shah to inaugurate an exhibition on the three new criminal laws and launched multiple cooperative sector initiatives.

These included the release of the State Cooperative Policy, signing of memoranda of understanding for establishing a school under Tribhuvan Cooperative University and reviving Badamba Sugar Industries, and dedicating 1,567 Common Service Centres run by Primary Agricultural Credit Societies and Large-sized Agricultural Multi-Purpose Societies.

A total of 69 projects worth Rs 1,159 crore were inaugurated, whilst foundation stones for 130 projects worth Rs 2,116 crore were laid during the programme.

The Cuttack district administration had declared a five-kilometre radius around the CISF campus at Mundali as a no-drone zone from 3 to 6 March, whilst traffic restrictions were imposed across key routes in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack to ensure smooth proceedings during the high-profile visit.
