LitTales, The Children's Literary and Cultural festival organised by The Verandah Club in association with Vivekalaya's Prakriya International School, Coimbatore returns with its eagerly awaited Third Edition, promising a richer, brighter and more immersive literary-cultural experience for children and families.

Conceived as a festival where narratives come alive through voice, performance, visual culture and imagination, LitTales has quickly emerged as one of the most distinctive storytelling platforms in the region—nurturing young minds while preserving India's heritage of oral storytelling.

The Festival has, in its past editions, drawn enthusiastic participation from students, parents, educators, institutions and independent storytellers from across the city and across India. Its unique blend of traditional, contemporary, folk and thematic storytelling formats—accompanied by music, crafts and theatre elements—has made LitTales a refreshing model for creative pedagogy and cultural engagement.

The Third Edition of LitTales aims to build on this foundation with expanded programming and new thematic arcs like The Bharat Bodh Quiz conducted by Indiyatra, this quiz aims to be a flagship competition as part of the LitTales ensemble.

There is a photography competition - Snapshot which aims at developing hobbies for children. This year's edition emphasizes cultural imagination, Bharatiya heritage and narrative empathy, encouraging children to explore stories rooted in the landscapes, legends and lived realities of India.

With over 30 story tellers coming from across India and about 2000 children from 25 schools already registering interest in participation, the Third Edition of LitTales has already garnered huge interest and keenness among participants.

Speaking about LitTales

Jaganathan S, Founder of The Verandah Club: "The intent is not only to entertain, but to stimulate curiosity, nurture creative confidence and deepen appreciation for stories as vessels of heritage, values and imagination."

Aishwarya Rao, Festival Director: "LitTales continues its commitment to celebrating Indian narrative traditions—from grandma's folktales to temple legends, from freedom movement anecdotes to ecological stories of forests, elephants and rivers. At a time when the digital world is re-shaping attention spans and modes of communication, initiatives like LitTales help re-anchor young minds in slower, deeper and more emotionally textured modes of learning and expression."

Sai Swaroopa Iyer, Festival Curator and best selling author: "The Festival has also become an important platform for showcasing emerging storytellers and educators who bring fresh energy and pedagogical creativity to their craft. LitTales has created a joyful ecosystem where imagination is celebrated, dialogue is encouraged and stories become bridges between generations."

N Saravanakumar, Director of The Verandah Club: "LitTales remains anchored in a simple belief: stories have the power to shape minds, nurture empathy and build community."

The Third Edition will feature a curated line-up of storytellers, performers, cultural educators, writers and special guests, along with exciting interactive zones, workshops, book corners, heritage capsules and thematic story circles.

The Third Edition invites everyone to rediscover that magic once more.
