Dubai-based technology firm Solstice Data has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a large-scale AI-driven data centre and high-performance computing (HPC) campus at the KINFRA Industrial Park Mattannur.

The project involves an estimated investment of Rs 52,600 crore. Under the agreement, approximately 100 acres of land within the industrial park will be allocated to the company to develop its advanced data infrastructure facilities, as per news agency PTI report.

The MoU was formally exchanged in Thiruvananthapuram between Raj Babu Thulaseedharan, India Country Head of Solstice Data, and Santhosh Koshy Thomas, Managing Director of Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA).

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of P Rajeev and Director of Industries P Vishnuraj, highlighting the state government’s support for expanding high-technology investment and digital infrastructure in Kerala.

Solstice Data is known globally for designing, building and operating advanced AI-enabled high-performance computing data centres, which support large-scale cloud computing, artificial intelligence processing and data storage requirements.

Apart from its headquarters in Dubai, the company manages more than 60 data centre projects across several international locations, including the United States and Canada.

Officials said the proposed facility in Kannur is expected to play an important role in strengthening Kerala’s digital ecosystem while attracting additional technology investment and innovation to the region.

The company plans to implement the full investment in phases over a period of five to seven years.

The KINFRA Industrial Park at Mattannur, which spans roughly 175 acres, has already developed core infrastructure to support industrial activity.

Around 123 acres are available for industrial use, and several enterprises have already established operations there.

Authorities noted that the Solstice Data project will utilise the remaining 100 acres available for industrial allocation.
